Watch a deer make his way into the Crystal City metro station! Thankfully, this cute little guy made it out safely, but not before surprising some early morning commuters.
When you’re riding Washington, D.C., public transportation, you’re sure to experience some unique things, but a deer running around the metro station doesn’t seem like one of them. Well, Tuesday morning commuters have truly seen it all now!
A deer was recorded on camera running around a metro station, trying to escape. The deer is seen jumping around the tracks as lights blink on both sides, alerting commuters that the trains are coming. Somehow neither the deer nor the bystanders got hurt during the ordeal. The incident happened on Tuesday at the Crystal City metro station around 8:30 a.m. in Arlington, Virginia.
The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority posted a video of the incident on social media. Viewers can see the poor deer run frantically around while trying to figure a way out. The best part of the video has to be the man on his phone who remains oblivious to the deer for most of the video.
Seems like *everyone* wants to get aboard the @Capitals train this morning! (Crystal City Station, 8:30 a.m. today — this little guy somehow wandered into the tunnel & ended up at the station. Safely exited through the tunnel back toward DCA.) #OHDEER #ALLCAPS #WMATA #StanleyCup pic.twitter.com/3ibeGuYwUe

WMATA reports that the deer was able to safely get out of the metro station through the tunnel, navigating its own way out and heading towards Reagan Airport. WMATA spokesman Dan Stessel told The Washington Post that they think the deer got into the tunnel on its own after coming out from a nearby wooded area.
Many Twitter users were entertained by the video.
