Now that it no longer feels like the middle of summer in D.C., it’s time to find the best spots to celebrate fall!
Bring on the falling leaves, spooky events, outdoor fun, and pumpkin-themed everything! Check out our list of things to do in D.C. this fall!
Rock the Core Cider FestivalOver 100 different ciders from around the world will be on tap on Rhode Island Ave NE during this festival on October 28. Beers will also be on tap, as will the delicious eats of food trucks from around the DMV! Come for the cider, stay for the games and giveaways, and then leave with enough cider to get you through the fall. More information can be found here.
E Street Cinema CinEinsomniaNothing yells “fall” more than watching your favorite scary movies! All autumn long, E Street Cinema around Metro Center will be showing spooky classics every Friday and Saturday evening at midnight. Screenings like Rocky Horror Picture Show will feature a live cast that will interact with the crowd during the film. Be sure to buy your tickets in advance, as the theaters are small and fill up fast!
Zoo Happy Hour
Now that the weather has cooled a bit, enjoy the outdoors with Happy Hour at the Zoo! Thursdays through Sundays, from 4 to 6 p.m., you can have appetizers, beer, and wine for $5. This all goes down at the Panda Overlook, and portions of the profits go back to saving different species. What could be better than drinks and pandas and saving animals? Click here for more information.
Smithsonian Food History Weekend Festival
Looking for something do for free? On Saturday, October 28, the Smithsonian Food History Weekend Festival will feed your tummy and your brain — for free. In the morning, enjoy live food demonstrations from famous chefs and historians, and in the afternoon, participate in the garden tour (expanding your taste buds for herbs!) and chow down on free meals as you talk with top food journalists and critics. There will be plenty of cooking-themed activities for kids all day long. A schedule can be found here.
